Feel like you're on a trip to Thailand with your beloved dog! Fragrant herbs, resounding spices! An authentic Thai restaurant where aromas and flavors dance.
神奈川県横浜市 / カフェ・グルメ
An authentic Thai restaurant located on the first floor of the Hongodai Municipal Housing, just a 1-minute walk from Hongodai Station.
The biggest landmark of the restaurant is the Thai three-wheeled taxi, a 'Tuk-Tuk,' prominently placed at the storefront.
This striking presence and the large yellow banner proclaiming 'Authentic Thai Cuisine' immediately tell you it's 'Tom Yum Kun' from afar.
Dogs welcome on the terrace!
It's an open space where you can feel the bright sunshine and the outdoor breeze.
From the terrace seats, you can enjoy an exotic atmosphere, as if you were on a street corner in Thailand, created by the Thai guardian deity Phra Phum, Thai decorations and accessories, and vibrant green chairs.
A sturdy roof is also available, which is a welcome feature as it can be used even on rainy days.
At 'Tom Yum Kun,' you can savor authentic Thai cuisine prepared by skilled chefs who honed their craft at top hotels in Thailand.
Among them, the must-try signature dish, also bearing the restaurant's name, is 'Tom Yum Goong'.
This rich soup, generously filled with fresh shrimp, is incredibly satisfying.
A complex blend of various herbs like lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and nam pla intertwine, creating a supreme bowl where deep shrimp umami is condensed within the spiciness and sourness.
'Tom Yum Ramen,' which luxuriously uses our proud Tom Yum Goong soup, is an irresistible dish for noodle lovers.
The exquisite soup, packed with spiciness, sourness, and umami, coats the noodles perfectly, offering an authentic taste praised as 'even more delicious than in Thailand'.
Another soup that captivates fans alongside Tom Yum Goong is '*Tom Kha Gai (Coconut Milk Soup)'.
If Tom Yum Goong delivers a strong impact of 'spiciness and sourness,' Tom Kha Gai is characterized by 'richness and gentleness'.
The soup, prepared by our skilled chef, uses plenty of coconut milk, resulting in a mild spiciness and sourness, with a rich and creamy texture.
The refreshing and exotic aroma released by galangal (Thai ginger), the essence of Tom Kha Gai, harmonizes exquisitely with the rich creaminess of coconut.
It's a superb dish that even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy.
The highly popular 'Green Curry' that garners enthusiastic support from customers.
This curry, made by our skilled chef, features an exquisite balance of the mellow sweetness of coconut milk and the pungent spiciness of green chilies, offering an authentic yet gentle 'umami' flavor preferred by Japanese palates.
It's a hearty dish generously filled with ingredients like chicken, bamboo shoots, and bell peppers, making it very satisfying.
Furthermore, to fully savor this exquisite curry, you can choose between fragrant jasmine rice or Thai sticky rice, 'Khao Niao'.
The 'Dry Thai Noodles (Kuay Teow Haeng),' which has a strong following, is a masterpiece that stands apart from soup noodles, condensing the vibrancy of Thai street food and rich umami.
This dish, where the noodles are intertwined with the skilled chef's special sauce, is characterized by its punchy, rich seasoning.
The rich sauce clings firmly to the noodles, allowing you to directly savor its complex umami with every bite.
Without the soup interfering, you can fully enjoy the texture of the noodles and the depth of the sauce's richness in 'Dry Thai Noodles,' a dish that is sure to become addictive once you try it.
The restaurant's highly recommended 'Thai Fried Rice (Khao Pad Gai/Talay)' is a classic dish loved by people of all ages.
This fried rice, prepared by our skilled chef, uses fluffy, fragrant jasmine rice and is generously stir-fried with plenty of fresh shrimp.
The seasoning is characterized by a light and gentle flavor adjusted to Japanese preferences, with the deep umami created by Thai seasonings like nam pla enhancing the seafood flavor that spreads in your mouth.
It's a dish that even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy with peace of mind, making it recommended for children and families.
Besides shrimp, chicken can also be chosen as an ingredient.
The popular side dish 'Thai Omelet (Kai Jeow Moo Sap)' offers a warm flavor loved in Thai homes, different from Tom Yum Goong or Gapao.
This omelet, simple yet deeply appealing, has the rich umami and flavor of minced pork firmly encased within the fluffy egg.
Since it's not spicy, it can be enjoyed safely and deliciously by those trying authentic Thai cuisine for the first time, those who don't like spicy food, and children.
If you add the accompanying special sweet chili sauce, the gentle sweetness of the egg and the richness of the minced meat are complemented by a sweet and sour kick, instantly transforming it into a distinctly Thai flavor.
After delighting your palate with authentic Thai cuisine, why not elegantly conclude your meal with a traditional Thai dessert?
The national Thai sweet, 'Khanom Tuay' (Coconut Milk Pudding), has a chewy texture and a perfectly balanced sweet and salty flavor from coconut sweetness and saltiness, making it addictive.
Additionally, there's a rich lineup of coconut-based desserts, including 'Tapioca Coconut Milk' with its fun popping texture, and rich 'Coconut Ice Cream'.
These uniquely Thai mellow sweet desserts enhance post-meal satisfaction and add color to the special time shared by you and your beloved dog.
Our drink menu, full of travel vibes, adds a touch of splendor to authentic Thai cuisine!
