How ratings are calculated
How reviews work
Store ratings on Inucomi are built mainly from reviews by members who actually visited the place. The approach keeps ratings trustworthy and makes them harder to sway with fake or manipulative reviews. Not every review is included in the rating, but every review is published with its own score.

The three numbers on a store page
Overall score
Calculated from the overall ratings of the reviews that count, shown to two decimal places.
Category scores
Scores per category such as service, comfort and food, based on the same reviews as the overall score.
Review count
The number of published reviews. Every review is counted, whether or not it affects the rating.
How it works
How store ratings are put together
Our aim is a rating grounded in the voices of members who actually visit and review, resistant to reviews meant to push a store up or down, and a level playing field for every store. Factors related to reviewer trustworthiness are taken into account. To prevent manipulation and keep ratings fair, we do not publish the details of the calculation, and we may adjust it over time.

Reviews posted by members under their username
Reviews linked to an account are the basis of the rating.

Weight on members who keep reviewing different places
Ratings from members who have reviewed a certain number of different stores are reflected in store scores.

Only published reviews
Approved, published reviews are used. Reviews under moderation or deleted are not included.
Not counted
Reviews that may not affect the rating
The following reviews are not included in the overall or category scores, but the review and its own score are published and included in the review count.
Anonymous reviews
Reviews posted with the anonymous option. You can write without a name, but the score is not counted toward the store rating.
Unpublished or deleted reviews
Reviews under moderation or deleted are excluded from both the rating and the count.
Reviews we consider less reliable
Reviews outside the approach above, against our guidelines, or suspected of manipulating scores may not be counted.
Even when a review is not counted, its text and score stay public. Please read them when choosing a place to go.
Existing reviews
Reviews from before this change stay as they are
Reviews posted before this system was introduced keep counting toward store ratings as before. Ratings that were already public did not change.

About review scores
Why doesn't every review count toward the rating?
To keep ratings trustworthy. Averaging every anonymous post as-is makes ratings easy to manipulate with fake or coordinated reviews. Centering the rating on members who actually visit and keep reviewing keeps the score useful.
Is there any point in posting anonymously?
Yes. The text and score are published and help other visitors. The only difference is that the score is not included in the store's overall rating.
Can I see whether my review counts?
To keep ratings fair, we do not publish whether an individual review counts or the details of the calculation.
Do the overall and category scores use the same reviews?
Yes. Both are calculated from the reviews that count. Only the review count includes every review.
Why does a store show "-" as its rating?
The store has reviews, but none of them count toward the rating yet. You can still read each review and its score on the page.
