Information Collected from Users

We collect the following information from users:

Purpose of Use of User Information

We use the information collected from users for the following purposes:

• To accept registrations for our services, verify user identity, and handle authentication
• To manage user service usage history
• To process payments for usage fees
• To analyze user activity history within our services and help maintain and improve our services
• To provide information regarding our services
• To respond to user inquiries
• To address actions that violate our terms or laws
• To prevent, detect, and investigate fraudulent activities in reviews, photos, and other postings (such as fake reviews, self-reviews, paid reviews, spam, and impersonation)
• To respond to requests for disclosure of sender information in cases of alleged copyright or rights infringement
• To notify users of changes, suspension of provision, termination, or cancellation of our services
• To notify users of changes to our terms and conditions
• In addition to the above, to provide, maintain, protect, and improve our services
• To deliver, display, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements
• To display targeted advertisements tailored to user interests

• To provide AI features (generating responses to AI consultations, calorie logging and analysis from photos, and audio transcription)
• To save, display, and analyze dog health records
• To maintain and improve the quality of AI features (trends in consultation content are tracked statistically and utilized as reference information after being processed into a form that cannot identify individuals)
• To confirm service safety and prevent unauthorized use (our administrators may check the contents of AI consultations)

Measures Taken for Safety Management

Regarding the measures we have taken for the safety management of information collected from users, if you contact the inquiry desk listed at the bottom, we will respond individually in accordance with laws and regulations.

Third-Party Provision

Among the information acquired from users, we will not provide personal data (Article 16, Paragraph 3 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information) to third parties (including those located outside Japan) without obtaining the user's prior consent.
However, the following cases are excluded:

• When outsourcing the handling of personal data to external parties (when outsourcing to third parties in foreign countries, we will obtain the user's prior consent in accordance with the following section, "Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties in Foreign Countries")
• When our company or services are acquired
• When sharing with business partners (if specific joint use applies, the details will be announced separately)
• Other cases permitted by law to legally provide to third parties

Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties in Foreign Countries

When you use the AI features, we provide text, photos, and audio input by you to third parties in foreign countries for the processing of those features. This provision is made based on Article 28 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information after obtaining your prior consent. As information provision pursuant to Paragraph 2 of the same Article, we provide the following matters:

Reason Why It Cannot Be Specified
Google explicitly states for the endpoints in use that it "does not guarantee data location and machine learning processing within the region," and because some of the subcontractors handling the processing are located in multiple countries, the country where processing takes place cannot be specified in advance.

Information Helpful to the Individual
Google stipulates that customer data is not used to train generative models in Google Cloud services. We do not have settings enabled to save input content and responses to Google's logs. The names, locations, and processing countries of subcontractors handling processing can be checked in the list published by Google.

Measures Taken by Us
Text is automatically masked for names, email addresses, etc., before transmission. Photos are compressed and auxiliary information such as location data is removed, but faces and text within images, as well as the content of audio, cannot be automatically masked. Photos in consultation chats are referenced only for the current response and are not saved in our consultation history. Please be careful when sending photos containing identifiable individuals or audio containing names, etc.
In addition, authentication credentials for provision are isolated and managed on our servers and are not exposed to the user's device.

Information Provided and Purpose of Use
We provide text (after the masking process described above), photos, and audio input by users into the AI features for generating responses to AI consultations, calorie logging and analysis from photos, and audio transcription.

Obtaining and Withdrawing Consent
Consent is obtained from users on the consent screen displayed when using AI features for the first time. Even once consent has been given, you can withdraw your consent at any time from your My Page settings. When using AI features after withdrawing consent, confirmation of consent will be requested again. Note that withdrawing consent does not immediately stop the handling of data that has already been provided.

Furthermore, the accuracy of analysis results by AI features is not guaranteed, and they should be used as reference information.

Recipients When Using Device Speech Recognition for Voice Input
Voice input may utilize the speech recognition features built into your browser. If it is verified that your browser can process audio locally on the device, audio is not transmitted from the device. It is transmitted to the browser provider's server only when verification is not possible. The recipient in this case is as follows:

Apple does not publicize the countries where speech recognition processing takes place, stating only that it "may process and store it with trusted third-party service providers," making it impossible to specify in advance the country where processing occurs.

Apple explains regarding the identifiers used for speech recognition that "they are device-generated random identifiers that rotate multiple times an hour and are not linked to an Apple Account or email address." Information Provided and Purpose of Use
Audio captured via microphone is provided for voice input transcription. Due to its nature, audio cannot be masked and is transmitted as-is. Please be cautious when uttering names or other sensitive information.

Handling of Data in AI Consultation Features

The handling of consultation content when using the "My Pet Consultation" (AI consultation feature) is as follows:

• External Transmission and Consent: Consultation content is transmitted to the recipients described in the previous section after obtaining your prior consent and applying automatic personal information masking processing.
• Retention Period: Consultation history (the main text of consultations and AI responses) is stored for up to one year from the last usage, and items exceeding this period are progressively deleted.
• Deletion by User: Consultation history can be deleted by you at any time using the deletion operation on the consultation screen. Deleted history cannot be restored.
• Viewing by Us: To maintain service quality, prevent unauthorized use, and confirm safety, our administrators may view consultation history. The fact of viewing is recorded and will not be used for other purposes.
• Use as Statistical Information: To understand consultation trends and improve services, we create and retain non-identifiable statistical information (such as the number of cases by consultation field) even after the retention period has passed. Individuals cannot be identified from statistical information.
• Utilization as Knowledge: To improve the quality of AI responses, our personnel may check and register generalized Q&A derived by removing personal information from consultation content as knowledge. Registered knowledge does not include personal information.
• Medical Notice: AI responses are general reference information and are not a substitute for diagnosis and treatment by a veterinarian. If you have concerns about your dog's physical condition, please consult a veterinary hospital.

Utilization of Recorded Data and Post Content as AI Reference Knowledge

To improve the accuracy of answers and estimations provided by AI features (such as My Pet Consultation and calorie estimation from photos), the following information is processed into an anonymized form and registered and utilized as knowledge (reference information) referenced by our AI. Registered knowledge does not include your name, your pet's name, notes, photos, or recording dates.

• Statistical Information: Trends by dog breed and month (such as average calories, weight, number of cases by record type/expense item, and average cost) derived from meal records, weight records, hospital/medicine records, and household accounts are created only when a certain number of pet owners and pets are met. Case numbers are represented as approximate figures.
• General Facts about Products and Stores: Names, brands, types, approximate calories and nutrients per 100g of food products collected from meal records of 3 or more pet owners, and store names and approximate expenses by expense item (in units of 100 yen) collected from household accounts of 3 or more pet owners are registered as knowledge after verification by our personnel. Individual records, purchase dates, and purchased items are not included.
• Published Posts: Published reviews, photo captions, and the body text of comments on reviews are utilized after removing information related to the poster and automatically masking contact information, etc. If a post is deleted, the corresponding knowledge is retained as reference information unlinked from the poster and original posts. Knowledge based on posts hidden by our company for being deemed inappropriate is excluded from AI reference targets.
• AI Reference Performance: The knowledge referenced by AI and the degree to which you modified calorie estimations from photos are compiled as reference counts and helpfulness scores (numerical values) for each piece of knowledge. Consultations and the body text of records are not included in this aggregation.
• Opt-Out Method: Turning off "Data Usage for Service Improvement" in your My Page settings will exclude your records from being used to create statistical information and product/store facts going forward. Knowledge already registered in an anonymized form is retained because it contains no personal information. Deleting published posts unlinks the references to the poster and original posts from the corresponding knowledge.
• Recipient: Registered knowledge may be transmitted to the recipients described in the previous section as reference information when generating AI feature responses and estimations. It is never provided to third parties in a personally identifiable form.

Handling of Information Acquired During Posting

When posting reviews, to maintain review integrity, we acquire and record the following information along with the post content. When posting photos and comments, IP addresses are used solely for consecutive post detection and spam prevention screening (retained for a short time), and the following records are not made:

• Information Acquired: IP address / Browser and device configuration information (type, OS, language settings, screen size, time zone, number of logical processors, etc.) / Referring page / Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) verification results / Time taken for input, number of paste operations, character count, and keystroke count. The actual text content entered (excluding the body of the post), key types, and mouse trajectories are not acquired. Furthermore, high-precision device identification (so-called fingerprinting) using Canvas, WebGL, etc., is not performed.
• Purpose of Use: Used exclusively for the prevention, detection, and investigation of fake reviews, self-reviews, paid reviews, spam, impersonation, etc., as well as responding to requests for sender information disclosure upon receiving reports of rights infringement. It is not used for delivering advertisements or analyzing user preferences.
• Retention Period: IP addresses and browser/device configuration information are automatically deleted 1 year (365 days) after posting. However, if a report on the post is received and under review, or if our company determines that retention is necessary to respond to sender information disclosure requests, lawsuits, or inquiries from administrative agencies, deletion will be suspended until such response is completed. After deletion, only un-reconstructable codes used to identify repeated postings by the same poster remain. Records containing these codes are deleted 1,100 days (approx. 3 years) after posting (excluding during the aforementioned retention periods). Note that non-identifiable statistical information, such as store-based/daily posting counts and detection aggregate values, may be stored beyond the aforementioned period.
• Third-Party Provision: This information is not provided to third parties except when based on laws and regulations, or when responding to sender information disclosure requests upon receiving reports of rights infringement.
