Information We Obtain from Customers

We obtain the following information from customers.

• Name (including nicknames and pen names)
• Age or date of birth
• Gender
• Occupation, employment history and educational background
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Address
• Photographs and videos
• Information relating to the customer's payment methods, such as credit cards, bank accounts and electronic money
• IDs used by the customer on external services, and other information that the customer has permitted to be disclosed to a linked party under the privacy settings of an external service
• Identification information generated through the use of cookies
• Information relating to the OS and device used by the customer, such as IDs generated by the OS, device type and device identifiers
• The customer's behavioral history on our website, such as time spent on our website, input history and purchase history
• Usage history of our app, such as app launch times, input history and purchase history
• The customer's location information

Purposes for Which We Use Customer Information

We use the information obtained from customers for the following purposes.

• To accept registration for our services and to verify and authenticate the identity of the customer
• To manage the customer's usage history of our services
• To settle usage fees
• To analyze the customer's behavioral history on our services and use it to maintain and improve our services
• To provide information regarding our services
• To respond to inquiries from customers
• To respond to acts that violate our terms or laws and regulations
• To notify customers of changes to, suspension of, or termination of our services, or cancellation of contracts
• To notify customers of changes to our terms and similar matters
• In addition to the above, to provide, maintain, protect and improve our services
• To deliver and display advertisements and to measure their effectiveness
• To display targeted advertising matched to the customer's tastes and preferences
• To send information about partner businesses and services

Measures Taken for Security Control

With regard to the measures we have taken for the security control of information obtained from customers, if you contact us at the contact point listed at the end of this document, we will respond individually in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

Provision to Third Parties

Of the information we obtain from customers, we will not provide information that constitutes personal data (Article 16, Paragraph 3 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information) to third parties (including parties located outside Japan) without obtaining the customer's prior consent.
The following cases, however, are excepted.

• Where the handling of personal data is outsourced to an external party
• Where our company or our services are acquired
• Where the data is used jointly with business partners (where specific joint use takes place, we will announce the details separately.)
• Other cases in which provision to third parties is lawfully permitted by law

Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties in Foreign Countries

When you use our AI features, we provide the text, photographs, and audio you enter to a third party located outside Japan in order to process those features. We obtain your consent in advance in accordance with Article 28 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. As the information required under Article 28, Paragraph 2, we disclose the following.

Reason it cannot be identified
Google states explicitly that the endpoints it provides do not guarantee data residency or in-region machine learning processing, and the parties to which Google subcontracts part of the processing are located in multiple countries. We are therefore unable to identify in advance the country in which processing takes place.

Information useful as a reference for the individual
Google provides that it does not use customer data of Google Cloud services to train generative models. We have not enabled the setting that stores prompts and responses in Google's logs. The names, locations, and countries of processing of the parties to which Google subcontracts processing can be confirmed in the list Google publishes.

Measures we take
Text is automatically masked for names, email addresses, and similar items before it is sent. Photographs and audio cannot be masked because of the nature of those media and are sent as they are. Please take care when sending photographs in which an individual appears, or audio that contains names or similar information.
The credentials used for the transmission are isolated on our servers and are never exposed to your device.

Information provided and purposes of use
We provide the text you enter into the AI features (after the masking described above), together with photographs and audio, in order to generate responses to AI consultations, to record and analyse calories from photographs, and to transcribe audio.

Obtaining and withdrawing consent
We provide the data only after obtaining your consent on the consent screen shown the first time you use an AI feature. Even after you have consented, you may withdraw your consent at any time from the settings on My Page. If you use an AI feature after withdrawing, we will ask you to confirm your consent again. Please note that withdrawing consent does not immediately stop the handling of data that has already been provided.

Please note that the accuracy of results analysed by the AI features is not guaranteed. Please treat them as reference information.

Handling of Data in the AI Consultation Feature

The following describes how we handle the content of your consultations when you use the AI consultation feature.

• External transmission and consent: After you have given your consent before use, the content of your consultation is automatically masked for personal information and sent to the recipient described in the preceding section.
• Retention period: Consultation history (the text of your consultation and the AI's responses) is retained for up to one year from your most recent use, and entries beyond that period are deleted in sequence.
• Deletion by you: You can delete your consultation history yourself at any time using the delete action on the consultation screen. Deleted history cannot be restored.
• Viewing by us: Our administrators may view consultation history in order to maintain service quality, prevent misuse, and confirm safety. The fact that such viewing occurred is recorded, and it is not used for any other purpose.
• Use as statistical information: In order to understand consultation trends and improve the service, we create statistical information from which individuals cannot be identified (such as the number of consultations by field) and retain it after the retention period has passed. Individuals cannot be identified from statistical information.
• Use as knowledge: In order to improve the quality of AI responses, our staff may review generalised questions and answers, from which information relating to individuals has been removed, and register them as knowledge. Registered knowledge does not contain personal information.
• Medical note: AI responses are general reference information and are not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a veterinarian. If you have any concern about your dog's condition, please consult an animal hospital.

We use "Google Analytics" to analyze customer access.
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect traffic data.
Traffic data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals.
You can refuse the collection of this information by disabling cookies.

Delivery of Advertisements

We place advertisements provided by Google and its partners (third-party ad distributors).
Cookies are used for advertisement delivery, and advertisements are delivered based on information about the customer's past access to our website and other sites.
