The real highlight of "Okome to Okazu" is, without a doubt, the freshly cooked "clay pot rice".
We use carefully selected Koshihikari rice from Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, milled fresh daily at the restaurant, and cook it fluffy in a clay pot with delicious water.
The glossy, fluffy, and fragrant freshly cooked rice is an unforgettable delight with just one bite.
What's more, this proud clay pot rice comes with free large portions and refills.
You can enjoy it to your heart's content.
At "Okome to Okazu", heartwarming homemade set meals are very popular!
We offer set meals that make the most of the umami of dashi, carefully prepared daily at the restaurant, without using any chemical seasonings.
Our handmade side dishes include Nikujaga (meat and potato stew) cooked with our special dashi, and Mackerel simmered in miso, which pairs perfectly with rice.
We offer a variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients sourced daily, such as hearty Ginger Pork and Fried Chicken, seasonal sashimi, and grilled fish.
Set meals come with freshly cooked clay pot rice, miso soup, our famous Nikudofu (meat and tofu stew), and a small side dish, making them very satisfying.
The "Pork Loin Cutlet Toji Set Meal," a favorite among repeat customers, features tender and juicy pork loin simmered slowly in a sweet and savory dashi-based sauce, gently bound with runny eggs.
The moment it enters your mouth, the umami of the dashi spreads, making you want to devour your rice.
Among the set meals, the "Aji Fry Set Meal" is a hot topic on social media, known for its overwhelming presence and deliciousness.
The large, thick aji fry, filling the entire plate, is incredibly satisfying.
The exquisite contrast between the crispy, light batter and the plump flesh maximizes the natural flavor of the aji, creating a simple yet profound taste.
Adding our special homemade tartar sauce further enhances the umami of the aji fry, transforming it into a deeper flavor.
Please enjoy the delicious aji fry to your heart's content with the hot clay pot rice.
You can customize your own set meal by adding small side dishes to popular set meals.
These add-on dishes are sure to make you eat more rice, and each has the appeal of a main dish.
For example, you can choose according to your mood, such as fatty "Mini Salted Mackerel" or "Chicken Nanban" generously topped with homemade tartar sauce.
You can also enjoy "Crab Cream Croquettes" with their exquisite contrast between crispy batter and creamy filling, and "Shrimp Fry" with an irresistible plump texture.
Adding a raw egg topping to your set meal further expands the ways to enjoy it.
Combining a raw egg with the "Nikudofu" that comes as a side dish with the set meal is truly exceptional.
Nikudofu, simmered in a sweet and savory dashi-based sauce, is delicious enough to make you eat more rice on its own, but adding a raw egg transforms it into an even deeper flavor.
Dipping the ingredients in beaten raw egg creates a luxurious taste, just like sukiyaki.
The creaminess of the egg envelops the umami of the Nikudofu, allowing you to enjoy a rich and flavorful taste.
Another way to enjoy it is to make Tamago Kake Gohan (rice with raw egg).
By pouring a fresh egg over the hot clay pot rice and alternating bites with Nikudofu, you create a contrast in flavors that allows you to enjoy the set meal without getting tired of it until the very end.
During dinner time, in addition to our proud set meals, we also operate as an izakaya.
Beyond set meals, we offer a wide variety of à la carte dishes that can be enjoyed leisurely with drinks.
Our izakaya-style menu is extensive, ranging from our famous Nikudofu, fried dishes like oyster fry and fried chicken, to authentic grilled fish such as grilled Atka mackerel and Spanish mackerel Yuanyaki.
Among them, Ara-daki (simmered fish scraps in a sweet and savory sauce) has concentrated umami, making it an excellent accompaniment to sake and a perfect match for clay pot rice.
At "Okome to Okazu," whose name includes "Okome" (rice), we offer a particularly wide selection of sake, which is made from rice.
We carefully select seasonal brands and limited-edition sake that pair well with sashimi.
Additionally, to suit the Ginza area, we also offer wine and champagne.
It's recommended not only for a relaxed meal but also as a second stop for drinks.
Standard beers and sours are also available.
If you're unsure about your drink choice, the owner, a former bartender, will suggest the perfect drink for you!
