Escape the city bustle and enjoy a moment of peace! A renovated traditional Okinawan house restaurant where you can experience authentic depth.
東京都中央区 / カフェ・グルメ
3 minutes walk from Ningyocho Station A3 exit.
Exit A3, turn right immediately, and walk straight along Suehiro-dori. You'll see "Gouya," a charming old folk house, on your left.
The warm wooden sliding door and the soft glow of lanterns quietly lit under the eaves of the alley create a nostalgic atmosphere.
It evokes a sense of peace, making you want to drop by casually during a walk with your dog.
The interior, renovated from a 60-year-old traditional house, is a warm and comfortable space, as if you've returned home.
You can enjoy a relaxing time, feeling the Okinawan breeze.
Customers with dogs can also enjoy a relaxing time together at the seats near the entrance.
At "Gouya," we carefully select fresh ingredients delivered daily from Okinawa and are particular about the distribution methods to maintain their freshness.
We use carefully selected safe and secure ingredients to offer a variety of authentic Okinawan dishes that are also visually appealing.
You can fully enjoy the rich blessings of Okinawa.
Furthermore, seasonal ingredients appear as daily recommended specials, so you can discover new flavors every time you visit.
One dish we particularly recommend to experience Gouya's commitment to ingredients is the fresh "Umi-budo" (sea grapes) delivered from Okinawa.
We pay meticulous attention to storage methods to deliver them in the best possible condition.
To prevent the cold-sensitive umi-budo from shriveling, we even use heat packs during transportation in cold seasons.
As a result, you can fully enjoy the popping texture in your mouth and the ultimate freshness.
Gouya's famous "Goya Champuru," beloved by regulars.
This proud dish was featured on the TV program 'Chubo desu yo!' as Ningyocho's 'Master of the Town'.
The owner's particularity lies in perfectly preserving the crispy texture and moderate bitterness of the goya while cooking it.
By adding beaten eggs with white pepper at the end, a fluffy texture is added, creating a profound flavor.
Gouya's famous "Aburi Yaki Soft Bone Soki," hailed as the most popular dish.
Soft bone soki is simmered until the cartilage is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the collagen-rich surface is grilled until fragrant.
This exquisite dish, a testament to careful work and time, offers a taste you won't find elsewhere.
You can enjoy the ultimate harmony of tender meat that easily falls apart with chopsticks and a savory aroma.
A must-try when visiting Gouya are the many dishes made with Okinawa's brand pork, "Agu Pork."
The Agu pork carefully selected at Gouya is lower in cholesterol and rich in Vitamin B1 and umami-boosting glutamic acid compared to regular pork.
Its greatest appeal is the beautifully marbled meat and the sweet, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth fat.
Among them, "Agu Pork Shoulder Loin Steak" is especially recommended.
To maximize the appeal of Agu pork, it is slowly oven-baked to bring out its umami.
The exquisite balance of tender meat and melt-in-your-mouth sweet fat is truly a blissful taste.
With one bite, the deep umami of authentic Agu pork spreads throughout your mouth, allowing you to enjoy a luxurious moment.
For meat lovers, we highly recommend "Rafute," which is so tender it easily falls apart with chopsticks and melts in your mouth.
Pork belly is slowly simmered for a long time, and excess fat is carefully removed, allowing the rich, special sweet and savory sauce to thoroughly penetrate the meat.
It's a heartwarming flavor, perfect with both rice and sake.
Not only delicious, but also rich in collagen.
Please enjoy this blissful dish, made with time and effort.
The owner's meticulously crafted "Chicken Karaage" is first marinated in a special dashi made with Okinawan salt and left to rest for a full day, thoroughly locking in the umami deep within the meat.
Furthermore, by frying it twice, the outside becomes crispy and fragrant, while the inside is surprisingly juicy.
This proud dish showcases the owner's reliable skill in maximizing the natural deliciousness of the ingredients.
The "Beni-imo Croquette," a hit with repeat customers.
When you bite into the crispy, light coating, the vibrant purple beni-imo offers a fluffy texture in your mouth, followed by a melt-in-your-mouth sensation.
You can enjoy the exquisite contrast of crispy outside and moist beni-imo inside, making it a visually appealing dish.
The "Aasa Tamagoyaki," a popular dish among women, known for its fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
With one bite, the rich aroma of Okinawan aasa (sea lettuce) spreads throughout your mouth.
The elegant dashi-infused flavor enhances the aasa's aroma to the fullest, creating a taste you won't tire of.
It's a hot, voluminous, and beloved dish we're proud of.
For the perfect end to your meal, we recommend "Okinawa Soba," a representative Okinawan soul food.
The deep dashi, slowly simmered with pork, bonito, and chicken, harmonizes perfectly with the homemade noodles made with the owner's proud noodle-making machine.
The clear soup is light yet profoundly rich, and its compatibility with the chewy noodles is outstanding.
We offer a wide selection of Okinawan drinks to complement your meal.
Enjoy a special glass of Okinawa's classic "Orion Beer," poured by staff who have completed a quality seminar.
Additionally, we have a limited edition "Goya Dry," characterized by its refreshing bitterness and crisp finish.
We also offer over 30 types of awamori, Okinawan sours, and tropical original cocktails.
Please enjoy them to your heart's content with Okinawan delicacies, tailored to your preference.
We also offer a variety of Okinawan-style desserts.
You can enjoy sweets perfect after a meal, such as fragrant Sata Andagi, sesame dumplings, and rich, smooth beni-imo ice cream.
Additionally, for birthdays and anniversaries, we can provide a dessert plate with a message.
While there is no dedicated dog menu, upon request, we can provide "Mimiga Ponzu" and "Agu Pork Steak" from the regular menu without seasoning.
Yume-chan enjoyed the "Boiled Mimiga."
